Actually I haven't done that yet. ALMOST had a run in - I've had a cheap ass Ruger MKII misfire right into the steel toe of my boot. I was readying myself to get some shillouttes down when the pin pretty much deRED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOed itself right onto the equaly cheap rimfire .22 LR.

If those things weren't so weak and didn't hit the thick plate, I'd probably be missing a toe *Althought I DID crush the toe a lil*

I love that movie too. How's it for shooting? Most of my experience is with semi-automatics so I really wouldn't know. And yeah, I'm a newb... just beginning to take an interest in shooting.

I mostly shoot semiauto, too - 9mm, .40S&W and .45ACP. Semiautos are much easier to clean.
The Uberti is surprisingly comfy and fun to shoot. I took it to the range only once and ran 50 rounds through it - only because I don't like cleaning it. I'm a dedicated semiauto shooter.

Way the hell cheaper than the HK mags, which fit rather tight (more than my liking). If you get a package deal, you can get 'em for $3 a pop, surplused from the Mexican Army. The catch is, you need to buy a minimum of 10. Still, $30 for 10 mags? That's one hell of a deal.

Now, to be fair, I DID hear a few horror stories about the lips bending and the magazines damaging the mag well (How I have no idea), but I've never had a problem with them - and I probably killed the springs by now (always 20 rounds. Hurts like hell getting them all in, but it's worth chewing through at some 400 yards with dead on percision without having to pause for a reload).

I'll see if I can find a link or somethin' for ya - if you have a G3 they work in them, and some nut job told me they also work in the British made FAL rifle (L3 I think it's called? The beautiful weapon they replaced with that piece of junk L85).

If you're interested in learning the shooting sport and how to care for a rifle look up your local NRA or PAL (Police Activities League)

I still remember firing my buddy's competition Springfield Armory .45 with a tricked out trigger and compensator. My 1st shot was a bulls-eye... the reset were way off due to me jerking the guy forward in anticipation of the recoil.

A few shots later, a big BOOM went off in the stall right next to me, and I really felt that blast. It turned out to be someone firing a .44 magnum...

That's the first big hurdle in shooting a "large bore" handgun - learning not to "mash" the trigger.

Here's one drill you can try.

1. Practice "dry firing" an empty pistol downrange without mashing.

2. Let your friend load the pistol for you as you stand at the firing line. Your friend will either leave the chamber empty or load a round - he just won't tell you which. Remember to observe all safety rules!

3. Now, pick up the pistol and aim downrange and shoot. If the chamber is empty you'll see easily how much you're mashing the trigger since you'll be jerking the whole gun.

4. If you're pressing the trigger properly on a loaded chamber you'll get a "surprise break" which is ideal. Don't worry so much about the aim. But doing this often enough will teach you not to be afraid of the recoil and to keep a steady hand. It can take a while to get rid of trigger mash but, with practice, you'll get there.

- you're next hurdle will be to keep from shutting your eyes or blinking with each shot ...
